How updates work
Buying a license gives you the current version of Lorenz, forever, plus one year of updates. After that year, you have two choices:
- Renew at $29/yr — keep getting the latest releases, including new features and major versions.
- Don't renew — the app keeps working exactly as it does today. You just stop receiving updates. You can renew again later if you change your mind.
We do this because Lorenz is a tool you run on your own hardware. You shouldn't lose access to software you paid for.

What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing breaks. The app keeps running on the version you have. You just stop receiving auto-updates until you renew.
Why not a subscription?
Lorenz is a tool that runs on your computer with no server-side cost to us. We don't think you should have to pay forever for software you run yourself. The annual renewal funds ongoing work on updates without holding the app hostage.
Can I move my license to a new Mac?
Yes. One license = one installation, but you can move that installation between machines as you upgrade hardware.
Do you offer a team or business license?
Not yet. A team tier ($35–$49/seat, minimum 2 seats) is in the works for once core features stabilize. Drop your address on the waitlist and mention "team" if that's what you need.
Refunds?
Yes. If Lorenz isn't right for you within 30 days of purchase, email us and we'll refund. No questions, no forms.
